Laundry & Linen Program
La Maestra’s Laundry & Linen Program has ramped up services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Laundry services provided reusable yellow gowns to conserve PPE at all sites. These gowns are laundered daily to protect staff and the community and to provide isolation gowns for all staff even during a shortage of isolation gowns across the nation. Additional isolation gown pick-up and drop-off sites were added to assist all staff at all screening sites and at the La Maestra Cough and Cold Clinic in City Heights. The pick-up service for laundering also increased to daily pick-up times to meet the needs of staff for the COVID-19 screening process implemented at all clinic sites. In addition, lab staff in addition to all medical, dental, and pharmacy staff are now required to wear medical white coats. White coats are required to be worn per La Maestra Family Clinic, Inc.’s employee handbook. Staff wear white lab coats over their scrubs. Staff change these days, therefore La Maestra Foundations Laundry & Linen services has increased productivity to meet the demand. In addition, the Laundry service procured additional supplies to ensure that all coats and isolation gowns were properly sanitized in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
