La Maestra Foundation (LMF) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) established in 2003 in San Diego, California. The mission of the La Maestra Foundation is to provide and support advocacy and community services that improve the overall well-being of low-income, culturally diverse individuals and families in San Diego and guide them along the path to self-sufficiency. La Maestra develops and integrates a variety of social services that are essential for low-income, underserved youth and adults to be healthy and thrive.
Services include affordable housing assistance; transitional housing; microcredit loans; microenterprise assistance; financial literacy and job training placement; computer skills training; youth education and leadership; Healthy Choices Food Pantry; a community garden; arts and other vocational skills classes. All services are integrated into La Maestra’s holistic Circle of Care™ model to address clients’ unique health and well-being needs through referrals to comprehensive services.
